This puukko was named after its handle, which has been made out of a block of two black walnut pieces with a stripe of curly birch between them. In the finished puukko the stripe of birch settles in the middle of the handle and forms a consistent line with the spine of the blade. Puukko has a 80 mm forge finished carbon steel blade and brass bolsters (the upper bolster has been cast). The sheath is tanned leather and has a liner inside to protect the blade.
